Her career began in communications, public relations, and brand management, advising leading corporations and government agencies across Ghana and Nigeria. Leveraging this expertise, she launched her first consulting firm, which laid the foundation for a diversified business portfolio spanning investment management, infrastructure, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, and merchandise distribution.
In parallel, Selassie built a distinguished track record in film and television. As CEO of Smarttys Productions, she has led content creation, talent development, and large-scale corporate events across Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. With over 100 acting credits and 20+ film productions, Selassie has become one of West Africa’s most recognized media executives—blending creative excellence with business leadership.
Driven by a deep understanding of Africa’s creative economy, Selassie is helping close critical gaps in the region’s film and television sector. She is actively nurturing a new generation of African storytellers producing authentic, globally competitive content that elevates Africa’s narrative on the world stage.
Beyond media, Selassie is Founder and Executive Director of DEBO CONSULT, a premier investment management firm serving high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients. Under her leadership, DEBO provides strategic portfolio management, wealth preservation, and cross-sector investment advisory services across traditional and alternative asset classes.
Selassie also serves as Executive Director of Jabneel Impact, a non-profit focused on education, empowerment, and entrepreneurship, reflecting her commitment to inclusive growth and talent development. Throughout her career, Selassie has consistently built cross-sector partnerships that fuel long-term, scalable growth. She combines strategic vision, market insight, and a deep pan-African network to unlock value and opportunity across industries.
Selassie holds a Master’s Degree in Media & Communication from Cumbria University, London, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Ghana, Legon.
